Hi TAC members,

There is going to be a meetup in Tokyo, Japan on Feb 21st holding by a Japan company called Lumiari (https://www.luminari.jp/conference)

Aditya and I have a chance to talk about OpenSSL in that meetup. Our topics are related to PQC, confidential computing and OpenSSL. The audience construction is valuable: the meetup is held on a 6-month interval periodically, and it's usually around 30-50 people on-site and 100-150 online. There is a distribution of different attendee classes, but roughly 30% are japanese, 70% are expats. We get about 20% students, 40% startups and SMEs, 30% enterprise employees and managers, 10% government.

Since Japan is one of the largest market of OpenSSL users, so we think it's a great opportunity to propagate OpenSSL in Japan. Thus we request for the approval of travel budget.

We need USD 3500 to cover the necessary travel expense for both of us in total, in which:

  1. Aditya needs 2000 USD (flights 900, hotel 800, local expense incl. food & traffic 300)

  2. Paul needs 1500 USD (flights 400, hotel 800, local expense incl. food & traffic 300)

The travel period will be from 20th to 24th. We add 1~2 days after the meetup in case any audience would contact us for detailed information on OpenSSL, so we can meet with them individually for potential business and technical opportunities.

If Aditya you have more detailed information for the meetup, pls free feel to comment.

We kindly request review and approval from the TAC members.
Please feel free to share comments, questions, or suggestions.

Thanks,
Aditya and Paul
