Quick heads-up about something happening at the conference, and a chance for you to shape it.

On Thursday 15th October at 17:00, the Foundation Advisory Committee will be on the main stage at the OpenSSL Conference for an open panel. It's a chance to talk to your FAC representatives directly and ask whatever's on your mind, including the awkward stuff.

I'd really like the academic side of the community to have a proper voice in that room, and I know plenty of you won't be able to make it in person. So if there's a question you'd like put to the panel, or a topic you think deserves some airtime, drop it in a reply here and I'll make sure it gets raised.

It doesn't need to be polished. A few examples of the kind of thing that would be useful:

- how academic researchers can work more closely with the project

- things the Foundation could do differently to be more useful to universities and research groups

- anything you've been meaning to ask but never found the right channel for

Those are just to get you started. Anything else is welcome too.

And if you are coming to the conference, it's still worth posting here! Time on a panel goes quickly, and flagging a topic in advance is the easiest way to make sure it doesn't get squeezed out.

If you'd rather not post publicly, feel free to message me directly instead.

Looking forward to reading what you come up with, and hopefully seeing some of you there.

Same applies on the Corporation side as well! There'll also be a panel discussion with the Corporation BAC & TAC, so if anyone has questions or topics they'd like raised there, especially from an academic/research perspective, feel free to send them my way too!
