Distribution Community meeting at FOSDEM - what venue and day?

Hi community!

During the OpenSSL Conference in Prague, we agreed to organize a longer meeting at FOSDEM, which we believe most of the distro community will be attedning.

We started looking into options we have and CentOS Connect seems to be like a good venue. However, the meetups can be scheduled only on Thursday, 29 January. Would this be ok? Are you aware of any other venue we could use for example on Friday? Or even during FOSDEM?

CentOS Connect has the submission deadline on 2025-12-15.

Please comment about your availability, or suggestions. With no responses, we will try to aim for CentOS Connect on Jan-29.

I'm planning to attend CentOS Connect anyway, so for me co-location would be handy.

I can plan to be in Brussels from 28th so that's fine. Never done CentOS connect before, but should be fun.

I am investigating some other options like renting a room in a co-working etc. I plan to raise this topic on today's BAC meeting with OpenSSL Corp.

At the BAC meeting, I received support to rent a meeting room on Friday. This gives us more opportunities to meet on Friday. Yet, I'd like to do both - the CentOS Connect can help us to reach people outside of our community as it is distribution focused event anyway and then have the Friday's meet up as a work community meeting.

I reached out to people I know in Brussels to recommend us the venue.

This https://mitwitoffice.com/en/address/mitwit-brussels-avenue-louise-meeting-rooms/ could be a viable option. It is at Luise, so very convenient for FOSDEM attendees, the smaller room is for 12, the bigger room for approx. 20. I'm going to raise the BAC funding request.
