The nomination period for the 2026 OpenSSL Foundation Advisory Committee has begun! Nominate yourself or someone else using the instructions in this guide.

As we previously announced, the Foundation is combining advisory committees. Representatives will have 2 year terms so the cohort elected in September will serve through September 2028. Nominations are open this month and the voting will take place in the first two weeks of September. For more details, see the election timeline.

Community and open governance are core to OpenSSL's mission and the Foundation's Advisory Committees have been key to keeping us connected. If you want to help us ensure everyone has access to privacy tools and secure networks, representing your community is a great way to be involved.

Once again, please submit nominations using this guide.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for sharing this! I'd like to nominate myself for the 2026 OpenSSL Foundation Advisory Committee. I've been actively involved in the OpenSSL community — contributing to discussions around AI policy, atomic operations, and other repo discussions — and I'd welcome the opportunity to represent the community more formally.

I'll go ahead and submit my nomination through the guide you linked. Looking forward to the election in September!

Best regards,

Josef
