Proposal : PQC & Web3 Meetup in HongKong

This proposal recommends organizing a high-level technical meetup in Hong Kong during the third quarter of 2024 2025, centered on the theme of "PQC & Web3." The event will focus on how Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) provides critical security for the Web3 ecosystem (particularly blockchain, digital assets, and decentralized networks) against the potential threats posed by quantum computing.
The Hong Kong government has explicitly made Web3 a key development strategy and is actively embracing related innovative technologies. Hosting this event is of significant strategic importance in this context: it will not only provide crucial technical insights for local and regional Web3 developers, enterprises, and investors but will also substantially enhance the visibility, influence, and core technical leadership of the OpenSSL project in the PQC domain, establishing OpenSSL as a foundational pillar for a post-quantum secure Web3 world.
The event is designed as an intimate and focused gathering, with an expected attendance of 30-50 attendees in person. This curated format is intended to foster high-quality, in-depth discussions and facilitate meaningful networking among experts, developers, and key stakeholders in the field.

It seems nowadays PQC is a popular topic in Web3 realm, because people are afraid of losing control of their digital assets (crypto currencies) if conventional cryptography is doomed by a dedicated quantum computer in 5 years or so. This threat make people in Web3 industry more nervous than other industries.
In fact I'd also like to have some input from companies like BTQ who has been advocating this for years.

PQC will be crucial to either TLS, institution-level custodian or self-custody system. Look forward to the meetup.

When in particular are you suggesting as a target date?
The "third quarter of 2024" has two issues - the first is the year 2024 and the second is July to September is 3rd quarter (of the calendar year) and that is very late to be proposing something for a meet up given we are in September 2025 already.
Could you please clarify what your target time period is?
